Pool Volume Calculator Dubai
This calculator works out your swimming pool's volume from its length, width and average depth, and gives a routine chlorine dose based on that volume. It is a quick way to get the water quantity right for dosing chemicals, sizing a pump or heater, or estimating the cost to fill, without guessing at a number that is easy to get badly wrong.
Swimming Pool Volume & Chemical Calculator
Knowing your pool volume tells you how much water it holds and how much chlorine it
needs. Volume equals length times width times average depth, in litres. Enter your pool size for the volume and
an indicative chlorine dose.
How it's calculated
Volume in litres = length times width times average depth in metres, times 1,000. Routine chlorine is about 7 grams per 1,000 litres. Example: an 8 by 4 metre pool at 1.5 metres average depth holds 48,000 litres and needs roughly 336 grams of chlorine.
Indicative only. Dose depends on current chlorine level and product strength.
Let us keep it crystal clear. See swimming pool services.
How do I calculate my pool volume?
Volume is length times width times average depth, converted to litres. The key word is average depth: most pools slope from a shallow to a deep end, so use the mid-point rather than either extreme, or the figure will be well off. The calculator does the conversion to litres for you, which is the unit that matters for dosing chemicals and sizing plant.
How much chlorine does my pool need?
Chlorine is dosed by volume, which is why getting the litres right matters. The calculator gives a routine maintenance dose as a starting point, but the real requirement moves with bather load, temperature and sunlight, all of which are high in Dubai for much of the year, so a pool here consumes chlorine faster than a cooler climate. Always dose against a test reading rather than a fixed amount, and never mix chemicals.
Why Dubai pools need more attention
Heat and sun burn off chlorine quickly, dust and fine sand load the filter, and high evaporation concentrates salts in the water over a season. A pool that is dosed and serviced on a schedule stays clear and safe; one left to a fixed weekly dose swings between over and under chlorinated. The volume figure from this tool is the foundation for getting the schedule right.
What the estimate does not do
It gives volume and a routine chlorine guide. It does not replace a water test, does not size a full plant room, and does not account for irregular pool shapes, which need to be broken into sections and added. For anything beyond a rectangular pool, or for a new build, a site assessment gets the numbers exact.
