Smart Home Cost Calculator Dubai
This calculator estimates a smart-home automation budget for a Dubai home from the number of rooms and the systems you want to control: smart lighting, climate, security, motorised curtains and audio-visual. It shows a range, because a wireless retrofit and a fully wired premium system such as KNX or Control4 sit at very different price points for the same rooms.
Smart-Home Budget Estimator
A Dubai smart home can automate lighting, climate, security, curtains and audio, from a
single room to a full villa. Cost depends on the rooms covered and the systems you choose. Select your rooms
and features for an indicative package range.
How it's calculated
Number of rooms times the chosen feature rates per room (lighting 1,500, climate 900, security 1,200, curtains 1,800, audio 2,500), shown as a range up to about 80% higher for premium wired systems like KNX or Control4. Example: 4 rooms with lighting and climate is 9,600 to 17,280 dirhams.
Indicative only. Final cost depends on brand tier (KNX, Control4, wireless) and wiring.

How much does a smart home cost in Dubai?
It scales with rooms and systems. Each room you automate and each subsystem you add, lighting, climate, security, curtains, AV, carries its own devices and wiring, so the budget grows with scope. The calculator multiplies the systems you select across your rooms and shows a range: the lower figure reflects a capable wireless retrofit, the higher a fully wired premium installation with the reliability and finish that come with it.
Wireless retrofit or wired system?
Wireless systems are quicker and cheaper to install in a finished home because they do not need walls chased, and they suit apartments and retrofits well. Wired systems such as KNX and Control4 cost more and are best designed in during construction or a full renovation, but they are more robust, scale better across a large villa, and do not depend on a mesh holding together. The right choice depends on whether the home is finished, how many rooms are involved, and how much you intend to expand later.
What adds the most to the budget
Whole-home audio-visual and motorised curtains are the costliest per room, while smart lighting and climate control give the most everyday value for the money. Security integration sits in between. Deciding which systems you genuinely want, rather than automating everything by default, is the single biggest lever on the budget.
The one technical catch
Automation adds electrical load and, in a finished villa, has to work with the existing wiring and the incoming supply. A large system layered onto an already-loaded board can trip breakers, so the electrical headroom is worth checking before you commit. Treat the calculator as a planning range and confirm with a site survey.
