• Network first. Everything else depends on it. Coverage across the whole property including outdoor areas, a properly configured router, and a separate network for devices where that is appropriate.

• Climate control, smart thermostats. In Dubai this is where the running cost saving is, because scheduling and zoning the AC has a real effect on consumption.
• Door entry and locks, video doorbell and smart lock, with your own credentials and old access removed.
• Cameras, positioned and configured with attention to what they overlook, since privacy expectations and building rules both apply.
